Together with two trusted GTA-based partners — Reefer Sales & Service and Mercedes-Benz Maple — we built a fully upfitted refrigerated commercial van that will be on display at the Truck World show floor. It is a real-world demonstration of what a purpose-built, cold-chain ready delivery van looks like when three industry specialists bring their best work together.
The Project: A Purpose-Built Refrigerated Van, Built for the Show Floor
The goal was straightforward: build a commercial van that represents the highest standard of refrigerated upfitting available in the GTA — a complete, show-ready build that industry professionals could walk up to, look inside, and immediately understand the quality difference a professional commercial upfitter delivers.
The van features Prisco’s signature Thermoliner™ insulation system, a professional-grade refrigeration unit supplied and installed by Reefer Sales & Service, and a Mercedes-Benz commercial van chassis sourced through Mercedes-Benz Maple. Every element of the build was chosen to reflect the standards that food-grade and cold-chain operators rely on every day across the Greater Toronto Area and beyond.

Mercedes-Benz Maple — The Van
Mercedes-Benz Maple, located at 9300 Jane Street in Vaughan and a proud member of the Zanchin Automotive Group, supplied the commercial van at the heart of this build. Mercedes-Benz commercial vans are widely regarded as among the most capable and reliable platforms for professional upfitting — known for their build quality, cargo flexibility, and long-term durability in high-demand commercial environments. For a showcase build designed to represent the best of what’s possible, there was only one right choice for the platform.
Reefer Sales & Service — The Refrigeration System
Reefer Sales & Service (Toronto) Inc., based at 750 Intermodal Drive in Brampton, has been delivering professional refrigeration solutions to the temperature-controlled transport industry for over 30 years. As an authorized Carrier Transicold dealer, Reefer Sales & Service brings unmatched expertise in refrigeration units, maintenance programs, and cold-chain compliance to every project. Their “make-it-happen” approach to customer service made them the natural partner for a build that had to perform as well as it looks.
Prisco Vans’ Role: Bringing It All Together
At Prisco Vans, our job is to take a commercial vehicle and transform it into a purpose-built tool for your business. On this project, that meant designing and executing the complete interior upfit — integrating our Thermoliner™ insulation system with the refrigeration unit to create a seamless, food-grade cold-chain environment inside the van.
Our Thermoliner™ system delivers an industry-leading R24 per inch of insulation value, built from closed-cell polyurethane foam bonded to galvanized metal with food-grade sealants throughout. The result is a waterproof, highly efficient insulated cargo space that maintains stable temperatures, reduces fuel consumption, and lowers operating costs — all while meeting the highest hygiene standards for food-grade transport.
